Planet Youth

James explores the journey of Planet Youth with Margrét Lilja Gudmundsdottir, Chief Knowledge Officer of Planet Youth and Jason Lidberg, Director of Planet Youth at United Way of Calgary and Area. Planet Youth is a research consultancy that runs a guidance program in adolescent substance use prevention with communities, towns, and cities worldwide. Originating in Iceland to combat rising substance use, the program's holistic approach involved collaboration among schools, parents, and communities. We delve into its implementation in Calgary, where tailored strategies will enhance local youth's well-being and resilience, empowering them to live their best lives and showcasing the power of adapting evidence-based models to local contexts for fostering healthier youth communities.

 

 

In the spirit of our journey to promote reconciliation, we would like to honour the truth of our shared history and acknowledge Treaty 7 territory and the traditional lands of the Blackfoot Confederacy, that includes the Kainai, Siksika, and Piikani First Nations.
